Workbench
A Workbench is the set of windows that enables the user to interact with the project. A workbench is created around a project. Even in interfaces that do not create a GUI (headless for instance), a workbench is created and used to process the project.
Main workbench
The main workbench serve as startup panel. It is opened automatically when GroIMP is started (even in UI without display). It was gray on older version of GroIMP, and is white with sections on newer versions. The main workbench remains “open” at all time as long as GroIMP is opened. When an other workbench is opened, the main workbench becomes “hidden”. It is visible again, when all other workbench are closed.
Project workbench
This is the workbench used when a project is loaded.
Layout
The layout refers to the arrangement of panels within the workbench interface. Different layouts provide customized views tailored to specific modelling tasks.
The layout can be customized by adding or removing panels through the Panels menu.
