Explorers

This section present the explorers. Explorers are panels based on resource directories. They display the content of the directory in a tree shape (usually a flat tree).

Many explorer have a “reference” method to get the object from the rgg code.

File Explorer

The File Explorer shows all those files of the project which have an immediate meaning as files to GroIMP. These are source code files, plain text files, HTML files and the like. Files which are used to define non-file-like objects (e.g., images, 3D geometry, data sets) are not shown in the file explorer panel, they are accessible in the panels of the corresponding object type.

Layouts

The layout refers to the arrangement of panels within the workbench interface. Different layouts provide customized views tailored to specific modelling tasks. The layout can be customized by adding or removing panels through the Panels menu.

Datasets

The datasets can be seen in the dataset explorer. Clicking on a dataset opens a very simplistic table view where the data viewed and edited. Moreover in the table view it is possible to export and plot the content using the menu of the panel.

Math objects

The math objects explorer enables to import of create new math objects, which can then be parametrized in the attribute editor. The math objects can be combined and chained to create functions.

Channel maps

I would love to know what they are : channel maps

Images

Every image used within a GroIMP project, e.g., a colouring texture of a 3D material, is shown in the Image Explorer. All file formats which are supported by your installation of the Java Image I/O Framework are readable, these are at least Portable Network Graphics (`png`), JPEG and Graphics Interchange Format (`gif`).

Objects

Object references enable to load an object from a file, and store it in a resource directory. Such objects can then be used from the xl code as either:

  1. An instance of that object: i.e. a node with the 3d geometry of the object.
  2. A resolved graph: i.e. the loaded graph from the object.

Fonts

This shows the fonts.

Meta objects

The meta object browser displays objects which have an influence on the scene, but which are not part of the material scene.

Shaders

This show the shaders.

Interiors

This show the interiors.

Cameras

This shows the cameras.
